To empty your head, you are going to have to remind yourself of all the stuff that is in there. It is kind of like cleaning out the attic. You don't even know what is in there until you start the process.
So, here is a supper cool tool that David Allen has in his book Getting Things Done.
It is the "Incompletion Trigger List." A list of items to trigger your memory. It will help you find and unpack the boxes you have in those deep dark crevasses of your mind. The idea is to sit down with a pad of paper and start listing all the incompletions you have stored away in your brain.
Each one of those incompletions is weighing you down - Sucking your energy - Depleting your ability to stay focused and on track each moment of your day.
Go ahead and open up the doors and see what you have hidden in there... it will lighten your load and bring peace of mind.
