Peace of Mind - Empty Your Head
12:35 PM, Posted by Doug Miller, No Comment
So, here is a supper cool tool that David Allen has in his book Getting Things Done.
It is the "Incompletion Trigger List." A list of items to trigger your memory. It will help you find and unpack the boxes you have in those deep dark crevasses of your mind. The idea is to sit down with a pad of paper and start listing all the incompletions you have stored away in your brain.
Each one of those incompletions is weighing you down - Sucking your energy - Depleting your ability to stay focused and on track each moment of your day.
Go ahead and open up the doors and see what you have hidden in there... it will lighten your load and bring peace of mind.

A Slap Across the Face! & How to Make Prospecting a Foolproof Habit!
4:39 PM, Posted by Doug Miller, No Comment
Can I tell you the truth here? The first workshop fell flat. I wasn't on my game. It was a bit embarrassing. So, I went back to the drawing board and completely redesigned the workshop. I was fired up and ready to roll for the next workshop.
The second workshop was awesome! The response was awesome! I felt awesome at the end! My purpose to give people practical tools was accomplished. I made a difference.
Then I opened up my email this morning and found this email (see below). Before you read it, I must say that I didn't actually "slap her" during the workshop. I was talking about mountain climbing. (I won't go into it here...)
---------HERE IS HER EMAIL-------------------------------------

Hi Doug,
Thank you so much for the workshop, it's been a pleasure to learn from you.
Lately I had no desire at all to prospect. I needed a slap as you said. "you slapped me". Yesterday...a day after your class I decided to go door knocking for 10 minutes....I got back home 3 hours later after talking to more than 10 people and passing out 14 business cards. AHA! Your workshop worked for me.....as soon as I can I will join The Happy Healthy Wealthy Game.
TELL ME ..........WHY AM I getting so much unexpected income?
WHY are my clients so nice to me?
WHY is my prospecting so enjoyable?
WHY are my escrows closing so smoothly?
WHY AM I reaching my goals?
WHY is my family so happy and healthy?
WHY AM I SO HAPPY AND HEALTHY?
Thank you,
Grace

What are the 9 Environments of you?
3:53 PM, Posted by Doug Miller, One Comment
I always find it interesting that there can be two people that are equally skilled. They both have a clear intention of the result they want. And one person works really hard and never quite achieves success while the other person doesn’t seem to do anything and exceeds the goal. A huge part of this equation is the environments around these two people.
I first learned about the 9 Environments of You from Thomas Lenoard at CoachVille. Then I got involved with The Happy Healthy Wealthy Game. The Happy Healthy Wealthy Game is designed with nearly every single environment in mind. It is literally one of the most supportive environments on the planet to create sustainable change. (Oppss... I promised myself no ranting in this post... lets get back on topic.)
In the rest of this post I am going to explain the most important environment and show you exactly what you can do to use it to support you.
The first and most impactful environment is called The Memetic Environment. Here is the definition of this environment.
The Memetic Environment: The memetic environment is at the very core of environmental design. It includes ideas, thoughts, beliefs, paradigms, styles and usages which are passed down from generation to generation. The memetic environment also includes access to information and knowledge (books, websites, magazines, television, and radio.)Think about the struggles people face in their lives. It could be health, finances, relationships, or any number of things that derail a person from having the life they want. Imagine how much a person struggles to improve if they believe it will never improve. Here is a simple and classic example. There was a belief that no one could ever run a mile in less then 4 minutes. Everyone agreed. Every sprint runner wanted to do it but never could. It was considered impossible. Guess what happened in May 6, 1954? Roger Bannister ran a mile in less then 4 minutes. That is really cool… but what is even more cool? By the end of the year, 16 other runners joined him in accomplishing the impossible. (You may want to re-read this last sentence. It is not a typo!) Why were 16 more runners able to do this when no one could ever do it before? Because the memetic environment changed. Roger Bannister made the impossible possible.
What do you believe about the change you want to make? Get out a piece of paper and start writing them all down. Just let the pen start writing and don’t edit. You will find out some interesting things. When you are done, review the list and find the “one” belief that has the most energy or is the most unsupportive. Sometimes these are called irrational beliefs. Now, rewrite it in the positive. What would the opposite belief be that would support you? You have the power to make the impossible possible in this very moment. Next we will take a look at how to control some other elements of your memetic environment.

Creating a New Habit - Why Willpower Won't Work!
6:46 PM, Posted by Doug Miller, No Comment
Our subconscious mind, which controls our habits, is actually stronger than our willpower. However, most people are using willpower to create new habits, which takes a lot of energy, a lot of discipline, a lot of focus, and goes against many years of programming. The problem is you’re not in the habit of that new habit. Willpower is like a light switch. Imagine walking into a dark room, flip the light switch on, but it has a spring that automatically turns the light off. In order to keep the light on, it has to be held on. Willpower is exactly the same, it’s only on when you turn it on and, for most people, that’s not much of the day. Most of the day, we do the same thing over and over and over and over. I guess that is why they are called habits.
The new way to set and achieve goals effortlessly is to delegate your success to your environments. Here’s the catch. When I say environments, most people think of nature, plants or their physical location. These are types of environments but most people are unaware there are actually 9 different environments controlling our success.
These 9 environments are conditioning us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to be Happy Healthy and Wealthy or to be Unhappy, Sick and Broke. Therefore, if you become aware of the 9 environments and learn how to change the environments to pull you into your goals instead of using willpower and force to push you toward your goals, life would become simpler and goals would become easier to accomplish.

How a crystal clear vision can simplify your life?
9:14 AM, Posted by Doug Miller, No Comment
His comment really caused me to stop and think. As a coach, my passion is in supporting people to discover the highest vision for their life. Another way of saying it is that I am all about assisting people in getting crystal clear what they were put on the planet to do. What are they most passionate and fired up about?
Here is what I constantly find that surprises me. The clearer we are about what we are on the planet to do, the simpler our lives get. I find we are much quicker to eliminate distractions and laser focus on what is most important to us the clearer we are.
It reminds me of a private client that was attempting to manage 4 different businesses when I started working with him. As you can imagine none were doing well at all. Over time, he got clear where the real vision was for his life - what he is really passionate about. He focuses on that business solely now. And he has successful created an amazing product and brought it to market. And he is on fire with passion.
So, how do you do this? The fastest way is to start now. Most people are waiting until they are clear to start. The paradox is that the clarity doesn't really show up until you start. It is in the action that we get to see and feel the energy of our life being awakened (or not).
This is where I can not help but get fired up and passionate about the Happy Healthy Wealthy Game. It is a system set up to get & keep people in action. AND learn from the action. Most people find that the goals they thought were important to them at the beginning of the game end up changing before the end of the 90 days. And I am constantly hearing how most people feel like giving up when they realize their original goal is not what they want. The Happy Healthy Wealthy Game is a system that holds them on course to change the goal and KEEP GOING!
Wow. I got really energized there. I hope you can catch the spirit of my passion about this topic. Any thoughts?

How to Make a Vision Board
4:13 PM, Posted by Doug Miller, No Comment
So, I did some digging on the internet and found this amazing blog posting on how to create a vision board. Why make another wheel when there is one right there in front of you? Click here to go over to Christine Kane's blog site and read about how to make a Vision Board. (While you are there, you can check out her music. What I heard sounded awesome.)
One thing that Christine doesn't mention is that couples, partners, and groups can also do vision boards together. I was giving a motivational presentation at a sales meeting in an office where right behind me on the wall was the office's group vision board.
What have you attracted using a vision board? What are your thoughts? Click on "Comments" below and jot a note.
